“I draw and make sculptures because I like to avoid words. My irrepressible need to build with clay, hempcrete, industrial objetcs, textile and even plasticine is more telling. These ensembles of shapes are like pawns in a large, modular game with an infinit number of possiblities. They evoke many different things, but pinning them down is more problematic; are they sexual? Vegetal? Animal? I aim to encourage this ambiguity, and hope to provoke curiosity, discomfort, sometimes disgust. What ultimately guides my work, however, is representing nature, parts of our bodies, our insides and the fluids that circulate in all living things. After working on a series of pieces for a while, the repetitions of my gestures start to make sense – all the uncertain decisions taken during the process lead to this. It works. This is why I make sculptures."

		<description>Triphasé

	Triphasé is a space supporting emerging artists’research with an eye on the future. The project was born
in a 900m2 industrial building in Anderlecht, on the outskirts of downtown Brussels, in 2021. Antoinette
d´Ansembourg and Alice Pandolfo first founded the Ateliers Triphasé and invited ten visual artists to occupy them
annually. The Espace Triphasé, an exhibition space and experimentation hub, was inaugurated six months later
with the group exhibition “Please Talk Louder”. Triphasé is a project overflowing with energy, allowing artists to
expand their practice free of constraints while promoting encounters and exchanges with the public.ATELIER TRIPHASÉ
The studios form a community where a familial,
fertile atmosphere reigns. They have welcomed, since
April 2021, around ten artists independently practicing
painting, installation, ceramics, textiles, sculpture and
design. This collection of heterogeneous artists
forms a stimulating group breeding an atmosphere of
collaboration, discussion and sharing.ESPACE TRIPHASÉ&#38;nbsp; The Triphasé Space is a 170m2 area where
exhibitions and other cultural events are held. Rich
in cinematographic history, it constitutes the ideal
environment for bringing an additional dimension to
artists’ creative ambitions while opening a dialogue
with the outside.
The space has the particularity of being located at the
foot of the workshops, allowing the public not only to
visit the exhibitions but to meet and share a moment
with the artists in the intimacy of their studios.A double program is developed at Triphasé: firstly,
it sets up a series of in-house exhibitions bringing
together the works of resident artists around a collective
proposal. Secondly, Triphasé selects and invites both
young artists and external curators to take over the
exhibition space in order to develop their projects.
This program offers an opportunity for artists to show
their work in a different setting from galleries, a chance
to explore and pursue their research in a unique space
with different constraints. Triphasé is committed to
promoting young artists’ work, and remunerates both
research and the realization of ideas that participate in
the development of the space.

		<description>“Concrete will bloom”Ballroom Invites“Concrete will bloom" is Antoinette d'Ansembourg's first painting exhibition, an opportunity for the
artist to express her plastic intentions in a new dimension. Despite the two-dimensionality of the
canvas, sculptural elements continue to figure in the artist's formal vocabulary, notably in the
scattered presence of her ceramic "minimondes", sometimes becoming integral components of the
compositions.

Antoinette d'Ansembourg's paintings are created from a fusion of pre-existing objects or invented
forms, brought together in composite ensembles - models, collages, dioramas - before being
photographed and painted in oils. These scenes are windows into new worlds, imagined from
fragments of the real world: plants and industrial or handmade elements. They are arranged in
pictorial compositions, halfway between still lifes and landscapes.


“Plants, in their history and evolution, demonstrate that living beings produce the space in which
they live rather than being forced to adapt to it. They have modified the metaphysical structure of
the world for good (...) It is in and through plants that the Earth has asserted itself as a cosmic
laboratory, a space for the invention of forms and the making of matter.” (cf E. Coccia)

Exhibited at the occasion of “Specters of the future”, curated by Zoe Van Den Boogaerde
Group show - Doel Festival and Espace Triphasé - 2023
“A humid ecosystem teeming with life has sprung up here, out of time and out of sight. Discarded PVC pipes, scraps of electrical wire and soil clay found themselves attracted to each other, driven by opposing forces. The materials twisted and intertwined in synergy, forming a new entity in mutation. These new hybrid elements between nature and industrial debris, these gigantic flowers and plants are now expanding in these neglected places.

Is this an omen? Is it a prototype, a beta version of what the traces of a land made of debris and battered nature are destined to become, when everything is depopulated?”

&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; Antoinette d’Ansembourg is sensitive to the modification of nature, of beings and things – their transgenic qualities. In an abandoned house in the centre of Kortrijk, set to be demolished, an intimate laboratory blossomed during her residency. Unsettling mutations were forged, stemming from improbable combinations of living things and detritus. The organisms invading the space were born of the playful confrontation between her imagination and 1.5 tonnes of raw clay, excavated from the Oostrozebeke clay pit near Kortrijk.
